The carrier to provide free high-speed in-flight wifi via satellite partnership
Flyers on British Airways can soon access high-speed connectivity during flights free of charge following a new partnership from the billionaire's communications firm.
Free and Fast Connectivity Available to Everyone
British Airways stated that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” connectivity service via Starlink is set to be offered to travelers in coach, premium economy, or premium cabins as of next month.
Expanded Rollout Over Various Flight Operators
The holding company for British Airways, IAG, stated it had finalized an partnership with SpaceX to offer internet access across over 500 planes operated by their operators, such as the Irish airline, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.
Seamless Connectivity from Gate to Landing
BA stated that this implementation for the service was included in a £7bn “upgrade” plan and will provide lag-free internet access for flyers from the gate to arrival, also when in flight over oceans or isolated areas.
