The New Mayor Vows a 'New Era' for NYC in Inaugural Address
On his first day in his new role, Zohran Mamdani vowed to “transform” New York City, ushering in “a fresh chapter” and an bold beginning to his term.
A Groundbreaking Mayor
The young political star, who just a year ago remained a virtually unknown state assemblyman, is the city's first mayor born in Africa. He also made history by being the first to be sworn in using the Qur'an.
